Problem Statement

Latest health info is everywhere and privacy is major concern

From the perspective of the patient, these are the patient's pain points concerning the patient's medical record:

  • Disjointed clinical health data - Personal medical records are everywhere in clinics and hospitals. Which leads to not giving current information of health status.
  • Privacy issues - Personal medical records are shared or linked without the patients' knowledge. Self-determining of own record can be compromised.

In short, patients are not in control of his/her medical data.Integration and connectivity getting ownership of personal medical records are further compounded with legacy and problematic system integration with existing hospital information system.

Solution Statement

My health info in my control with mPHR app & interfacing system.

Data is carried on patient smartphones using the mPHR app. Health records and private information is secured with the patient.

mPHR
app connects with multiple healthcare systems via an interface. This is through an HL7 standard exchanging information between medical applications. HL7 is a known format for health-related information with many healthcare providers and services. Examples of HL7 messages include patient records, laboratory records, and billing information. If the clinic or hospital has the latest information of the patient, it will sync with the patient's mPHR app to ensure the latest information resides within the mPHR app. The patient has the right to request the clinic or hospital to delete his health record once all information transferred to the mPHR app.
