Problem Statement

Pressing shortage of fish larvae or fingerlings & high cost for large scale production of high-value fish

Aquaculture farmers in the high priced fish categories are suffering from two issues. The first issue is the expensive "baby" fingerlings supplies. The second issue is the high mortality rate of the fingerlings. Mahseer (kelah), marble goby and garupa are in the high priced fish category.

The inadequate local supplies have led to the import-dependent of these fingerlings. This is the main reason many aquaculture farmers have increased their prices. Many have even steered away from these categories due to the almost impossible supply of fingerlings.

This is further compounded when these fingerlings have a high mortality rate. The reasons for poor larval survival may stem from poor larval feed (e.g. suitability, nutritional value) and suboptimal larval rearing conditions. (e.g. water quality).

Solution Statement

The local supply of V&C POME Bac for mahseer (kelah), marble goby and garupa fingerlings is the solution in solving the pain points facing aqua fish farmers.

Feed-2-Fish© offers three possibilities approach to fish/ invertebrate hatchery production for fish farmers by providing (i) patented formulation POME-Bac to feed, (ii) live zooplankton and (3) fish fingerlings.

Research has shown V&C POME Bac to feed fish larvae or fingerlings have an 80% higher survival rate for various species of fish and invertebrates.
