Problem Statement

Fruits and vegetables, the main staple of a healthy diet, often have a short shelf life. Erratic transportation and other issues can leave harvested fruits and vegetables needing extra storage days before hitting the supermarket shelves. If there's minor spoilage, gone bad, of these fruits and vegetables would mean loss of revenue for farmers, wholesalers and retailers.

Solution Statement

This specific bio-peptide has a broad range of antimicrobial properties and can extend the shelf life of perishable agro-produce such as bananas and vegetables from farm to table. The shelf life of agro-produce such as fruits and vegetables can be further enhanced and losses overcome by spraying the liquid-based peptide solution after harvesting. This process extends the shelf life of the product by reducing spoilage significantly.
