Problem Statement
High cost to generate electricity using diesel generator set
Remote areas such as native houses away from villages and islands are out of the grid electrical power lines and they depend on diesel generator set. There are several problems to this scenario. The high cost of electrical generation using diesel. The limited use of hours that power generator can take. Environment degradation of using and storage of diesel.
There is also a secondary problem that these households in these remote areas are facing. The accumulation of waste and the use of land areas to discard the waste.
Solution Statement
UM's mini Bioreactor Hydrogen System
Conversion of organic waste into hydrogen. In turn the hydrogen will be converted into electricity through burning of the hydrogen. All these will be compartmentalized within UM's product called Bioreactor Unit for Hydrogen Production. The logic behind is the system patented design using anaerobic reaction for the organic waste.
Total Addressable Market
They live in 26,400 villages across the country. About 3.1 million of them reside in 46 remote districts in the peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak.
